EuroShop 2026 was firmly on our radar, and while we prioritized our presence at NRF and Platform X this year, we followed the developments in Düsseldorf closely. As one of the industry's most influential gatherings, it remains a key fixture for our future strategy, and we intend to return in the coming years – ideally as an exhibitor. This review distills the core business impacts and technological shifts from the ‘Global Retail Festival’ to provide actionable insights for our partners and clients.
The scale of modern retail
The 23rd (!) EuroShop recently concluded in Düsseldorf, demonstrating that the appetite for retail investment remains high. The event registered over 81,000 trade visitors from 141 countries and hosted 1,840 exhibitors from 61 nations. Notably, two-thirds of the audience traveled from abroad, with one in five coming from outside Europe. This international reach underscores the event's role as a global barometer for the industry.
Technology as the strategic backbone
A significant takeaway for C-level executives is the clear evolution of technology from a supporting function to a strategic backbone. EuroShop – the technology-focused dimension of EuroShop – demonstrated that the focus has shifted from ‘what is possible’ to ‘what is deliverable’.
Retailers are no longer investing in technology for its own sake; instead, budgets are spent selectively where efficiency intersects with customer benefits. DeliveredSoft is already prioritizing these high-impact areas:
- AI-based applications: The industry is moving beyond simple tools to optimize workflows along the complete customer journey, from merchandise management to checkout. We deliver this through Dynamics 365 AI Agents, turning predictive data into active operational participants that support complex decision-making.
- Modular ecosystems: There is a clear shift toward flexible store fitting and connected platforms that can scale internationally. Microsoft Dynamics 365 is the definitive example of a modular ERP ecosystem. We specialize in implementing this foundation, with Dynamics 365 Commerce as our signature module to ensure seamless global scaling, and Commerce POS integration.
- Operational efficiency: Technology-driven strategies now focus on both internal efficiency and the external customer journey. As an IT Consultancy, our core business is delivering these tailored solutions to optimize business processes and support international growth by removing technical friction.
The executive perspective
For enterprise-level retail, the challenge is not just finding technology, but implementing it without disrupting global operations. The discussions at EuroShop highlighted that successful digital transformations are those that maintain a clear focus on the customer journey while boosting efficiency.
"Retail transformation is often over-complicated by technical jargon, but for us, it’s about deliverability, and business impact," says Ulrik Balling Hansen, CEO of DeliveredSoft. "Whether we are talking about AI-driven supply chains or global ERP rollouts, we must remember that technology is only as good as the problem it solves. Everything starts with a conversation, and that is how we ensure the complex becomes simple and functional."
Looking forward
While the next EuroShop returns in February 2029, the technology-specific EuroCIS will open its doors again in February 2027. For DeliveredSoft, these events are essential hubs for high-level decision-making and strategic planning.
