Altex, Romania’s leading electronics retailer, transformed its enterprise by adopting Dynamics 365 F&O. This collaboration with DeliveredSoft stabilized core processes, unified 140+ stores and e-commerce, and built a robust, future-ready platform to confidently fuel rapid expansion and new strategic acquisitions.
About Altex Romania
Altex is Romania’s leading electronics and appliance retailer, operating more than 140 physical stores across the country and serving millions of customers every year. Their business spans a nationwide retail network, a high-volume e-commerce platform, a large central distribution center, regional warehouses, B2B and B2C sales channels, and a rapidly expanding corporate group driven by strategic acquisitions.
With over 1,200 POS devices, more than 150,000 SKUs, and daily volumes reaching tens of thousands of transactions, Altex runs one of the most demanding retail operations in the region. To support this scale, Altex selected Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations as the digital backbone of the enterprise.
The challenge
When DeliveredSoft was invited to join the program in early 2023, Altex was in the middle of an ambitious transformation journey. The Dynamics 365 project has also been started, but several areas still needed refinement before the business could fully rely on it as a strategic foundation.
Some processes worked well, while others required stabilization and alignment across finance, retail, warehouse operations, and omnichannel flows. Integrations with external systems, high transaction volumes, and the pace of organizational growth added complexity that needed a more unified approach.
At the same time, Altex was preparing for continued expansion – including future acquisitions – which placed new demands on the ERP architecture and governance model. It was clear that the platform needed a bit more structure and forward planning to support the company’s growth ambitions comfortably.
The collaboration
DeliveredSoft entered as a long-term partner with a clear purpose: to stabilize, streamline, and accelerate the Dynamics 365 F&O environment so it could support Altex’s scale and ambitions.
Working closely with the new CIO and business stakeholders, DeliveredSoft worked across all major business domains – finance, procurement, retail, commerce, logistics, integrations, and omnichannel – and helped transform the Dynamics 365 installation into a reliable, scalable, and future-ready platform.
“DeliveredSoft didn’t just assess the problem–they became a true partner,” shares – Laura Marin-Kohlbaum, CIO at Altex “Their expertise and clear, structured approach restored our confidence in the ERP program and aligned it with our expansion plans.”
The collaboration focused on:
- Strengthening core business flows
- Stabilizing integrations and warehouse processes
- Supporting omnichannel and e-commerce operations
- Introducing clearer governance and planning
- Preparing the platform for upcoming acquisitions
Together, Altex and DeliveredSoft transformed Dynamics 365 from a system requiring alignment into a stable, scalable, and future-ready ERP backbone positioned to support the company’s continued expansion.
The collaboration covered the full breadth of operations:
- 140+ stores
- 1,200+ Store Commerce POS devices
- Two major e-commerce platforms
- Store, Central and regional warehouses
- Multiple external services: couriers, fiscal devices, payments, e-invoicing, PIM/MDM, CRM, and Apple-specific integrations.
DeliveredSoft’s solution
DeliveredSoft applied a structured stabilization and transformation approach focused on three priorities: restore stability, align the business processes and simplify architecture, and prepare the platform for growth.
1. Stabilizing core processes
- Fixed major integration points (couriers, payments, invoicing, CRM, e-commerce, WMS).
- Removed bottlenecks in POS transactions and ensured store readiness for peak periods.
- Corrected financial postings, tax logic, and operational flows to restore trust in data.
- Brought transparency to planning, sprint execution, and reporting.
2. Optimizing retail and omnichannel
DeliveredSoft introduced several advanced store and customer experience features:
- Apple API pricing integration – demo devices display live prices from Dynamics 365.
- Electronic Shelf Labels – real-time price updates across all stores.
- Omnibus Directive compliance – automated tracking of the lowest price over 30 days.
- VAT validation directly from government registries, at POS and HQ.
- Fiscal device integration aligned with Romanian legislation.
- Automated coupon logic based on purchase behavior.
- Installer dispatch integrated with CRM for home installation services.
3. Transforming warehouse and fulfillment
Altex operates complex warehouses that required both standard WMS functionality and targeted enhancements:
- Supported the Warehouse Mobile App and optimized mobile flows.
- Built custom scanning logic tailored to small-item vs. large-item processes.
- Fine-tuned picking strategies and replenishment logic for high throughput.
- Improved transfer order management for store replenishment.
- Delivered essential customizations for courier label printing in legacy store warehouses.
4. Preparing for group expansion
A major strategic objective was enabling fast onboarding of newly acquired companies.
DeliveredSoft therefore delivered:
- A scalable data and integration architecture
- Governance model and project structure for M&A rollouts
- A reusable template for onboarding new entities (finance, retail, logistics)
- A stable hybrid commerce foundation, positioning Dynamics 365 as the operational core.
In July 2024, the program successfully went live across all stores, warehouses, and HQ in a coordinated Big Bang, without any major operational disruption.
Results and impact
Together, Altex and DeliveredSoft achieved a transformation that reversed the trajectory of the ERP program:
- Stabilized and accelerated an ERP program previously at risk
- Restored trust in processes, reporting, and operational data
- Enabled omnichannel innovation across stores and digital channels
- Delivered a functioning, scalable retail and logistics platform supporting millions of monthly transactions
- Provided a solid foundation for acquisitions, allowing new companies to be integrated quickly into the Altex Group
- Significantly reduced system fragmentation, consolidating critical processes into Dynamics 365
The combination of technical stabilization, process optimization, and architectural clarity has tuned Dynamics 365 into a true growth engine for Altex.

The partnership marks a decisive turning point for Altex. With a strong ERP foundation in place, the company is positioned to execute its ambitious growth strategy, bringing new acquisitions onto the platform and unlocking further omnichannel innovation.
